DISFIGUREMENT

If you have suffered a serious and permanent disfigurement to the head, face, neck, chest above the armpits, arm, hand, or leg below the knee, you may be entitled to Permanent Partial Disability (PPD) benefits equal to a maximum of up to 162 weeks of benefits multiplied by 60% of your Average Weekly Wage (AWW).

The compensation for scarring and/or disfigurement usually comes in the form of a lump sum settlement that is negotiated between you (or your attorney) and your employer’s insurance company. Negotiations generally take place at least six months after the date of the your injury so that it can be determined whether the scarring/disfigurment is in fact considered “permanent” under the law.

Unfortunately, you may not collect compensation for both disfigurement and the "loss of use" for the same body part.
